Psalm 56; Psalm 120; Psalm 140-142

David finds himself wandering and feels helpless against Saul and his army along with others. He is the chosen man to lead the nation, but in the meantime he has to contend with those who seek to kill him. Yet, God has set His angels around him to protect him. Sometimes it is a real angel, other times it is a wise counselor, other times it is the Word of God speaking.
David goes to God in prayer for direction and God answers. In those times the words of Isaiah ring forth: “Isa 30:21 You will hear a word spoken behind you, saying,“This is the correct way, walk in it,”whether you are heading to the right or the left.”
When we are in a predicament and do not know what to do, take a page out of David’s log and listen for God to speak and tell you what to do. Sometimes an audible voice from heaven will be heard. Other times, it is just a verse here in God’s Word that will give you the answer. Other times, it comes from a wise counselor. Whichever it is, listen and do not proceed until you are sure just as David did. He didn’t take the first answer but sought God again before he proceeded. How about you?
