Proverbs 25-26 “Like…So”

These two chapters show us the thinking of Solomon although copied by Hezekiah and others. The key words in these two chapters are “like…so” These are comparative ideas to help us see a truth in contrast to its opposite idea.
For example: Like cloudy skies and wind that produce no rain, so is the one who boasts of a gift not given. OR: Like a bad tooth or a foot out of joint, so is confidence in an unfaithful person at the time of trouble.
In both of these we see the truth followed by the consequences of what that truth means practically if you follow their advice. In both we see the effects of pride vs. humility. We can look at a cloudy sky with no rain forecast so is he who boasts he has about a gift only to then it is proven that he is a liar.
The second proverb shows us the pain of an infected tooth and men who listen to those who are false because in the time of trouble you will face that pain in many ways.
Today pick one of these and memorize it so you have it in your arsenal when the major fool Satan comes calling with his lies and deception.
