Praise
Acts 14 Praise Belongs to God
God gave Paul and Barnabas gifts of healing as proof they were sent by God. As happens so often, men want to praise men rather than God for these healings. Paul attempts to stop them from doing this. One of the works of Satan is to use what God has given men as witnesses of His power to praise men rather than God. We must beware of taking God’s glory to ourselves.
How often do men seek to usurp God’s glory. Why do men seek to do this? We are again reminded of this truth: the enemy has blinded the minds of men so they will not see the glorious image of Christ. [2 Cor 4:4]
What gift has God given me and do I give that praise to God alone or do I seek to take that glory to myself?
