Order out of Chaos
1Chron 23-25 Decency and Order
There is an old nursery rhyme: Rub-a-dub, three men in a tub, the butcher, the baker, and the candlestick maker… As we read this, we wonder who will be the leader of this band of merrymakers. David organized not just leaders but also the Temple duties before his death. So in 1 Chronicles 24 -27 we read that he left no stone unturned so that the services would be honoring to God. Unlike David, we often do not follow his example. Instead, we often fail to plan and plan to fail.
David is an example of a godly leader who does everything in a decent and orderly manner just as God would do. [1Cor 14:40] David made sure there were men to do the baking of the shewbread, men to lead the worship in song and praise, and men to direct the work of the Temple. Paul also provided for ideas for the church organization. “let the word of Christ dwell in our richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and spiritual songs with thankfulness to God.” [Col 3:16]
Are we that efficient in our direction of Christ’s church and our families?
