God’s plan can be summarized quite succinctly: He desires to be our God and we His restored people. In fact, the bible starts with this theme in Genesis and ends on this theme in Revelation 21:3-4. Jesus is the one and only Son who mediates our relationship with the Father through (1) the presence and power of His Holy Spirit (John 14:6, 26; 15:26; 16:13-14) and (2) rooted in the Son’s death, resurrection and present reign.
We trust Christ alone for our relationship with God – our pardon, reconciliation, and renewal – and our life with Him. As Paul says, “He is the reason you have a relationship with Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification and redemption, 1:31 so that, as it is written, “Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord” (1 Cor 1:30-31).
If you have trusted Christ, the apostle Joh says there is for you a beautiful hope and future:
Revelation 21:3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying: “Look! The residence of God is among human beings. He will live among them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them. 21:4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death will not exist any more—or mourning, or crying, or pain, for the former things have ceased to exist.”
