The Purpose for Suffering

Serving others

1 Peter 4 Peter counsels those of the Diaspora to count it a privilege that they are suffering, but be sure your suffering is for Christ and not for the world’s sake. Don’t be astonished that you are suffering for so did Christ. Suffering has a purpose which is to refine you until you come forth as gold. In the meantime let your love for the brethren be fervent and seek opportunities to serve them just as Christ served he and the other disciples by washing their feet. “Whoever speaks, let it be with God’s words. Whoever serves, do so with the strength that God supplies, so that in everything God will be glorified…” [1 Peter 4:11]

Where will you serve today those who you call friends and those of the church of God?
