Psalm 84:10 How do you honor God?

Faithfulness

Some years ago in our church was a survivor of the Arizona. He was a gentle man who yearned to serve with humility and the verse he chose was this one:

“For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God Than dwell in the tents of wickedness.” [Ps 84:10]

When asked why he didn’t serve as an elder or a teacher or even aspire to some high office, that was the verse he would quote. I always remember his smile as we drew near to the door and his humility. I no longer remember why he chose that verse; I just remember his gentle smile. He never talked about that day in Pearl Harbor but I think it impacted him in ways that nothing else could do.

Perhaps you have a verse that you have chosen as a way to honor God and others. If you don’t have that special verse, today would be a good day to do that.
