Joshua 24 Last words

Joshua is old and ready to leave this earth for heaven but he has one last duty and that is to challenge the Israelites to be faithful. Calling the leaders to himself, Joshua told them to: “Now put aside the foreign gods that are among you and submit to the Lord God of Israel.” So evidently they had not been obedient to remove all the idols and this was a reminder from Joshua that they needed a nation that was cleansed. Will they fulfill it? They said they would but if Joshua had to remind them, he knows they will not.
How often do we say we promise but then the lure of the world turns our minds and eyes away. God is a promise keeper, but we fail miserably in this area. What promise have you made to the Lord but have yet to fulfill it 100%? Could this be why you have not succeeded? What is holding you back?
