10.26.24.Be an Overcomer!

1 John 5 Overcomers 

John continues to teach his church and those who are believers around the world. Again, John reminds us that to love the world is a sin against God. He pointedly told them to NOT love the world or the things of the world. In other words, be an overcomer! Yet, today, even with this wise counsel we find more and more believers falling for false teaching. We must guard against this and the ways of the world for the way of the world is against the way of God. 

So the question remains: how can we love God and not the world? Step One: “Who is the one who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?” Yes, we must choose sides and it means choosing that Jesus is the blood bought Savior of the world. John says it like this: “only, but with the water and with the blood.” Again, John writes: “God has testified concerning His Son.” 

As we begin each day, may we stop and reflect on these truths so we are not caught off-guard. May we be steadfast and true to the Christ, our Savior. Be an overcomer.
