10.19.24. Seeking wisdom?

Proverbs 24 Discernment

Do you wish to be wise? Do you have some decisions before you and you are uncertain as to how to proceed? Then you should wisely seek and apply discernment in all situations. What marks should you observe and apply as you seek discernment? First listen and learn so you may be discerning for an evil person’s  heart contemplates violence, and their lips speak harm. Again: The one who plans to do evil will be called a scheming person so listen to what they are planning.  Do they say, “But we did not know about this,” they are speaking with forked tongue as if they are innocent! Not so! God says this about them: There is no future for them and their lamp will be extinguished! 

To be discerning one must seek God and His way and apply the truths of scripture. God says  I love those who love me, and those who seek me diligently will find me. [Prov 8] In sharp contrast, there is a warning here for those who desire discernment but do not seek the ways of God. Then they will call to me, but I will not answer; they will diligently seek me, but they will not find me, because they hated moral knowledge and did not choose to fear the Lord, [Prov 1] 

Today fear the Lord and seek Him early so He may teach you His ways.
