God laughs at men’s foolishness

God uses humor

Acts 19 God’s sense of humor

I always love this chapter because of what took place with Sceva’s sons. Principle: Don’t mess with God and His message or his messengers.

The seven sons of Sceva thought they could ride on Paul’s coattails: “some itinerant Jewish exorcists tried to invoke the name of the Lord Jesus over those who were possessed by evil spirits, saying, “I sternly warn you by Jesus whom Paul preaches,”  a man with an evil spirit said to these seven sons; ” “I know about Jesus and I am acquainted with Paul, but who are you?” Hilarious!  🙂 This is a reminder of Psalm 2: “The one enthroned in heaven laughs in disgust; the Lord taunts them.” [Psalm 2:4]

God has a sense of humor and He uses an evil spirit to ferret out the false exorcists. When the evil spirit descended on these sons they left in a hurry leaving naked and wounded. [Acts 19:13-16]

Let’s remember who God is or you might find yourself in that same position.
