God is God, not a man
Ezekiel 25 to 27 “God is not fickle, what He says He will do.”
God chose Israel to carry His message of love and forgiveness to the world. However, she decided to allow the foreign gods to infiltrate her land and her worship of Yahweh. Know this truth: judgment begins at God’s house, BUT He also sees the contempt of others, and He will judge them.
God patiently sent prophets and priests to warn Israel that He would discipline. First, He scattered the northern tribes to Assyria. God hoped that Judah would learn, but she did not. Her immorality increased, and so God sent them into Babylonian exile. One would think the nations to the east would see this and learn. Instead, they scoffed and rushed in to take Judah’s land, cities, and crops. They forgot what God told Abraham: “I will bless those who bless you, and the one who curses you I will curse.” [Gen 12:3]
Ezekiel explained to the exiled elders that as they rejected God and now were facing His hand of discipline, the surrounding nations would also face the same.
We should remember God is not a man that changes His mind; that which he said He will do. [Num. 23:19]
