Is "Theology" A Bad Word?
It used to be in some evangelical circles that when someone mentioned they were studying theology, it entailed the idea that they had (1) completely intellectualized “their faith”, and/or they had (2) lost fully their way and probably their faith, altogether.
I wonder where the problem really lies? Certainly there have been people who have made haste down these roads, but is that the fault of studying theology itself? What is good theology and why is it necessary for us if we are going to worship truthfully, read Scripture faithfully, and walk as disciples responsibly?
