1 Samuel 25-27 David again is protected

How often do we take matters into our own hands and set out to do something “stupid” but God intervenes and protects us. David’s anger got the best of him and he sought revenge on Nabal. Revenge is never the right response nor is bitterness, which David exhibited. David had protected Nabal’s sheep and his shepherds but he is not rewarded for this generous act. Instead, Nabal partied while David’s men were hungry. What should David do? In a moment of haste, he sought to kill Nabal and his men but God sent Abigail to keep David from making a gross mistake.
I cannot tell you the number of times I have set out to make what would be a disastrous mistake but God intervened. Praise be to God for His protection and praise be to God for Abigail! Today stop and think what would be the end result if I went through with my plans? Would they be to glorify God or self. Again we see the work of our enemy seeking to warp our minds. Be on guard! Seek God and His direction before you step out. I am a work in progress, how about you?
