1 John 2 Advocate

The truth of the gospel is this: “we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the Righteous One,  and he himself is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for our sins but also for the whole world.” 

Are we proclaiming the gospel message to the whole world? Who in our sphere of influence doesn’t know this truth? What are we doing about it? 

Further, this is the promise of the gospel message: “And now, little children, remain in him, so that when he appears we may have confidence and not shrink away from him in shame when he comes back.” 

Paul wrote to the Corinthians to remain steadfast, immovable always abounding in the work of the Lord knowing that your service is not in vain. John is telling his reader to also remain steadfast so that when Christ appears we enter His paradise with joy and peace knowing that we have been faithful. 

Jesus is your advocate. Trust Him. Turn to Him. Love Him. Proclaim Him.
