INTEGRITY…DO YOU HAVE IT?

What a blessing to be called to disciple another! But there are caveats that go along with this and one that is the most crucial is to be a person of integrity which has the meaning of without fault, just and righteous. As you post and talk with your disciple your conduct, words, and yes—even your actions reveal your integrity or lack thereof. Remember that the majority of those coming to you are still living and moving in this dark world. They are faced with those whose lifestyle is revealed in crookedness, evil and wickedness. You are the LIGHT out of that darkness and you reveal that contrast by conducting yourself with integrity or righteousness. You learn integrity by studying the character of God who is the fullest picture of this attribute.

God is “The Lord, the Lord, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, and abounding in loyal love and faithfulness,” As a discipler you are to be the example of those character qualities as well. You do it as you choose to obey God and take great delight in keeping his commands.

In Psalm 112 the writer remarks that “his integrity endures.” Not only does it endure but the qualities of mercy, compassion, and his just behavior will be passed on to the next generation.  You give honor to God as you live it out in your face to face or in online conversations. You do it in your daily moment by moment interactions in word and deed.

If you want to be seen, heard and viewed as a person of integrity, start here: study the character of God.

Hunger and thirst for this quality and you will be satisfied.

Be a person of integrity today as you interact with others.

“let your light shine before people so that they can see (we might add or hear about) your good deeds and give honor to your Father in heaven.”

[Mat 5:16]
